ఘంటసాల మాస్టారు సంగీత దర్సకత్వం వహించిన తొలి చిత్రం
"కీలు గుర్రం". ఈ చిత్రం 1949 లో విడుదలై గొప్ప విజయం సాదించిన చిత్రరాజం. రాజ అఫ్ మిర్జాపూర్ (మిర్జాపూర్ జమీందార్) నిర్మాత-దర్శకుడు. కథ-మాటలు-పాటలు శ్రీ తాపి ధర్మా రావు. ఘంటసాల మాస్టారు తనకు వచ్చిన ఈ అవకాశాన్ని చక్కగా ఉపయోగించుకొని , ఈ చిత్రం లోని అన్ని పాటలు సూపర్ హిట్ చేసారు. రాబోయే కాలంలో తనో గొప్ప సంగీత దర్శకుడు అవుతానని సంకేతాలు పంపారు. మాస్టారు గారి గళం ఎంతో మధురంగా, లేతగా ఉండి శ్రోతల మనసు పులకరింప చేస్తుంది. మాట స్పష్టత, గళ మాధుర్యం మాస్టారి ప్రత్యేకత. ఘంటసాల, సరళ రావు పాడిన " కాదు సుమ కల కాదు సుమ" చాల మెలోడీ గా బాణీ కట్టిన పాట. విన్నంత సేపు, మనం కూడా గగనంలో విహరించినట్లు ఉంటుంది.
ఈ చిత్రంలో అక్కినేని కి మారు తల్లి గా నటించిన అంజలి దేవి తరువాయి చాలా చిత్రాలలో నాయికగా నటించింది.
64 సంవత్సరాలు క్రితం వచ్చిన ఈ పాట, ఇంకా శ్రోతల హృదయాలలో శాశ్వత ముద్ర వేసుకొన్నదంటే , ఆ పాట మహత్యం ఎంతటిదో ఊహించుకో గలరు.
